INT. CAR - DAY (MOVING)

Judy drives the car, as BABY MARIA (2) sleeps soundly in her basket seat, which is secured in the front passenger seat.

In the backseat, Ruby, Garnett, Thomas, and Edison sit huddled together, all looking disappointed and sad.

JUDY

Come on guys, let’s not let this ruin our day.

RUBY

I wish Daddy could come with us.

GARNETT

Me too.

THOMAS

Don’t worry guys, we’ll make the most of it. It’s your birthday celebration after all.

EDISON

(sarcastically)

Yay, a waterpark without Dad.

Judy shoots Edison a stern look in the rearview mirror.

JUDY

Edison, that’s not helpful at all.

EDISON

Sorry.

The car falls into an awkward silence as they continue driving towards the water park.

EXT. SUNNY WATER PARK - DAY

As the family pulls into the parking lot, they notice that there aren’t many cars around.

JUDY

Looks like we came at a good time. It’s not crowded.

GARNETT

That means we won’t have to wait in long lines!

THOMAS

And we can ride all the slides we want!

RUBY

Yay! Let’s go!

Judy carefully unbuckles baby Maria’s seat and cradles her in her arms, followed by the rest of the family exiting the car.

GARNETT

It’s so cool to have the water park almost to ourselves!

JUDY

Shh, let’s not wake up Maria just yet.

They make their way to the entrance, where A FEW EMPLOYEES waiting to scan their tickets.

EMPLOYEE 1

Welcome to the Sunny Water Park. Can I see your tickets, please?

Judy hands the tickets, and the employee quickly scans them.

EMPLOYEE 2

You’re all set! Have a great day!

JUDY

Thank you.

RUBY

Let’s go!

The family rushes through the entrance.

I/E. SUNNY WATER PARK - DAY

The water park is a vibrant and bustling scene with colorful slides towering over the large wave pool in the center. There are various pools of different sizes and depths scattered throughout the area.

Judy gathers her family together, reminding them of the rules as they approach the water.

JUDY

Okay guys, remember the rules. No running or jumping near the pool, no diving in the deep end, and always staying together.

EDISON

Don’t worry, Mom. We know.

THOMAS

Yeah, we’ll be careful, we can swim tho.

Judy watches as Thomas and Edison run off toward the water. Meanwhile, Ruby and Garnett stay back.

JUDY

(to Ruby and Garnett)

Honey, come here. You two can’t swim yet, so you need to wear these life jackets.

Judy grabs a couple of bright orange life jackets from a nearby poolside and helps Ruby and Garnett put them on.

RUBY

Thanks, Mom.

GARNETT

I feel safer already.

As they approach the water, Judy keeps a watchful eye on her kids.

JUDY

(loudly)

Thomas! Edison! Remember the rules!

THOMAS

Sorry, Mom. We just couldn’t resist.

EDISON

Yeah! The water is too much fun!

Judy shakes her head, but can’t help but smile at her boys, then Judy decides to take baby Maria to the food area.

FOOD AREA

It’s a quiet food area, located next to the entrance, far from the pool, which offers a peaceful atmosphere. Jude sets Maria’s basket on a nearby table and begins preparing sandwiches for the family, ensuring a satisfying meal.

ON POOL

Thomas, Edison, Ruby, and Garnett are the only ones in the pool, splashing and laughing as they play.

A LIFEGUARD sits on his chair, keeping a watchful eye on them.

LIFEGUARD

(to himself)

Kids these days, always splashing around.

Edison jumps off the diving board, causing a big splash.

LIFEGUARD (CONT'D)

And they wonder why I have a headache.

Ruby swims over to the edge of the pool, looking up at the Lifeguard.

RUBY

Hey mister, can we show our swimming skills?

LIFEGUARD

(sighing)

Sure, why not.

Ruby and Garnett take turns swimming a lap, while the Lifeguard watches, unimpressed.

LIFEGUARD (CONT'D)

Alright, kiddo, that’s enough. You guys need to be more careful and follow the rules.

Thomas and Edison swim over to the Lifeguard, looking a bit sheepish.

THOMAS

Sorry about that, sir.

EDISON

Yeah, we’ll be more careful.

The Lifeguard nods and goes back to watching the pool.
